Finance and Operations Specialist |

Responsibilities • Oversee the financial processing, including payroll, accounts payable, TBER, Purchase order requests, Vendors, etc. • With oversight from the AD of Finance Operations, develop and implement finance operations policies and procedures; ensuring SPS is in compliance with the University regarding finance policies • Execute accurate and on-time month-, quarter-, and year-end closing of the School’s budget in-line with the University and Arts & Science policies and procedures as it relates to finance operations by providing support • Proactive management of Accounts Payable transactions • Design and develop ad hoc financial analysis to support program and department goals and objectives are performed timely and accurately • Supports leadership in ad hoc, high priority initiatives as needed • Provide new hire training on finance policies and procedures • May assume some of the responsibilities of the Associate Director Finance Operations in his/her absence or by delegation in her/his presence Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required • Two years of related experience required • Experience working with higher education clients is plus • Familiarity with University Financial Management systems, FFE, ARC and PeopleSoft/Oracle are preferred |

Responsibilities • Completes bank and/or account reconciliations. • Performs filing as needed of various financial documents. • Prepares journal entries, account updates, and maintenance in accounting system. • Collates and copy financial data as requested. • Generates financial reports in SBT, Tramms, Quickbooks or other accounting systems. • Creates and prepares various financial support schedules. • Reviews invoices for accuracy and completeness. • Records documents by vendor account. • Processes invoices for payment via check, ACH, wires. • Completes daily cash reconciliations to report cash inflows and outflows. • Maintains master database for Vendors and customers. • Work with senior staff accountants on various ad-hoc projects Qualifications • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or Taxation • Familiar with the financial sector, services and solutions • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Quickbooks etc.) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines • Ability to work independently and in teams • Ability to quickly absorb new technical concepts and tool |
