Financial Analyst
Job Functions
- Work on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of management reporting, delivering sustainable financial tools to keep the company on course
- Ability to take an ambiguous concept/task and complete in an effective way with minimal direction and improve processes, enhance usability of templates, and automate recurring analyses
- Produce regular, recurring reports, ensuring accuracy, validity, and clean presentation. Provide insight into past performance and future trends and distill learnings and KPI’s into actionable information
- Develop modeling, forecasting, and other analytical tools to improve planning and decision-making approaches across the organization
- Prepare and distribute management report packages including variances, trends, benchmarks, and goals
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to resolve issues and support business decisions
- Use technology solutions and tools to create systems & dashboards that enable teams to have appropriate visibility to financial data
- Provide fact-based insights into variances and trends
- Manage and develop financial reports that align, and simplify monthly business reviews, annual planning, and forecasting processes
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of financial analysis products including Excel (expert level) & SQL (strong working knowledge).
- Strong analytical skills
- Active listening & strong ability to gather requirements
- Ability to work well with and be helpful to others at all levels
- Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities
- Proven experience in analysis, modeling, and reporting financial performance
- Bachelor degree in finance or accounting
- 3+ years’ experience working in financial analysis, preferably with experience working with financial services or insurance
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills; effective in creating strong business partnerships with operations
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Limited travel requirement, if any, for branch visits, training, and conferences
