| Data Science Intern |
| Job Type: Internship Location: Chicago, IL |
| Responsibilities • Collaborate on data collection efforts (external API’s, public data sources, etc.) and assist with the data and analytics infrastructure design and maintenance (MS Azure based solutions). • Conduct Extensive descriptive analytics on the newly collected data, including visualization development. • Connect the dots and use the data to solve real business problems using the right machine learning or statistical modeling techniques. • Maintain and development of existing models into production (error handling, testing, etc.) • Share your knowledge with the team, and learn more along the way • Present your work to ABC Executives at the end of the Internship Period. Qualifications • Practical understanding and practical experience with a wide range of Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling algorithms/techniques. • Practical experience delivering exploratory and long term insights leveraging data visualization tools outside of statistical packages. I.E. Tableau, Power BI, D3.js • Experience in writing clean efficient, and reproducible R and/or Python code for data cleansing and modeling • Ability and passion to learn any new tool/language/algorithm on the fly (this is what you do for fun anyway ) • Ability to convey complex solutions\models and the value of the information to all levels of the organization • Good understanding of RDMS and SQL, and meaningful exposure to cloud solutions. |

| Responsibilities • Act as a hands-on Data Scientist intern by tackling a rich set of tangible problems that have measurable business impacts • Participate in brainstorming sessions and being able to describe patterns in data using math/stats and visualisation softwares. • Apply your optimization, machine learning and AI skills to solve business challenges • Partner with internal stakeholders to assess and provide data analysis & strategy recommendations for business questions • Keep up to date on trends, tools and research Qualifications • Rising Senior or recent Graduate from an accredited institution, pursuing a degree focused in Technology, Data, Statistics, or Mathematics • Experience with Python or R. • Familiarity with data visualization packages in R/Python or BI tools. • Working knowledge of Regression Analysis, model testing, logistic regression, GLM • Sound knowledge of statistics • Knowledge of one or more of: GBM, K-means, Neural Networks, SVMs, Bayesian Networks, NLP etc • Knowledge of SQL |

| Data Analyst |

| Responsibilities • Create, measure, and analyze various KPIs to inform decisions and support recommendations across the company • Innovate! Implement innovative quantitative analyses, try new data wrangling techniques, and experiment with new visualization tools • Work with other analysts to build tools and set processes to automate data analyses • Work closely with the product and engineering departments to understand, solve, and anticipate their analytics needs • Foster a culture of transparency: act as the main liaison between other departments to ensure data accuracy and uniform understanding of key metrics • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills Qualifications • At least 2 years of experience with dashboarding tools like Tableau or similar (Periscope Data is a plus) • At least 2 years of experience with SQL (BigQuery and MySQL is a plus) • Ability to take vague requirements and transform them into concise deliverables • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a fast-paced environment • Strong working knowledge of Python, R, and/or D3 is a plus • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics or similar • Prior experience at a tech company is a plus |
