Position: Accounting Intern
Summary of Position:
Our Accounting Internship is an accelerated opportunity to experience a corporate setting, learn about the financial industry and be part of our entrepreneurial approach to business. This program consists of intensive hands-on training and focuses on teaching you the skills to be successful in this domain. Interns will also have the opportunity to meet with individuals who work in the other functions within the group. Responsibilities:
- Take the full charge of the book including closing monthly end financial activities, performing reconciliations of various accounts, and updating financial projections and metrics
- Manage A/R by generating and sending out invoices, receiving payments and applying them to corresponding invoices, and notifying/contacting customers for overdues
- Manage AP by generating bills and paying vendors in time, making sure there is no duplicate payments sent to the customers
- Reimburse employees by generating expense report
- Take customer/vendor phone calls and reply emails to resolve any issues involving invoices, quotes, payments, and bills
- Work with senior staff accountants on various ad-hoc projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Master of Science in Accounting or Taxation
- Proficient in Quickbooks and Excel
- Familiar with the financial sector, services and solutions
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Ability to quickly absorb new technical concepts and tools
