2020 Summer Intern – Data & Analytics |
Job Type: Internship Location: New York, NY |
Responsibilities • Responsible for day-to-day activities of a project including interaction with other team members, professionals from other firms involved in the engagement, and client personnel; •Identify, research, and organize information to assess the appropriateness and sufficiency of available data to facilitate effective data access and analysis; •Identify the relationships among multiple sources and types of information to facilitate effective data analysis; •Analyze and interpret historical financial, operational, and transactional data; •Assist with preparation of reports, written analyses, trial and other presentations, quantitative exhibits, and other client deliverables regarding project scope and/or results of work performed; •Maintain detailed working records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and information sources employed during the performance of all analytical tasks; •Participate in client meetings to review results of work performed; and •Maintain professional image within the company and project the same to those outside of the company. Qualifications • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science, engineering, or information systems • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-paced, multi-task environment with attention to detail; • Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations; • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills; • Flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and engagements due to challenging deadlines, changing deliverables, and evolving task priorities; • Ability and desire to utilize technology to solve complex problems; • Familiarity with programming languages (SQL, VBA, Python, Java) and other database applications are preferred, but not required; • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and motivation to succeed. |

Data Engineering Internship (Graduate) |
Job Type: Internship Location: New York, NY |
Responsibilities • Knowledge in Java, Python, Hive, Cassandra, Pig, MySQL, NoSQL, or similar applications • Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities, and UNIX Commands. • Knowledge of large scale ML/DL based predictive analytics applications and building high volume data pipelines • Experience building data transformation and processing solutions • The ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources • The ability to understand complex systems and solve challenging analytical problemsParticipate in the design, build and management of large scale data structures and pipelines to support analytical needs. • Assist in the development of large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs • Apply understanding of key business drivers to accomplish work • Use expertise judgment and precedents to contribute to the resolution of moderately complex problems • Leads portions of initiatives of limited scope, with guidance and direction • Write ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing • Collaborate with client teams to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes • Use knowledge in Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and experience designing & optimizing queries to build data pipelines • Use programming skills in Python, Java, or any of the major languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems • Build data marts and data models to support clients and other internal customers • Integrate data from a variety of sources, assuring it adheres to data quality and accessibility standards Qualifications • Graduate or undergraduate student studying Business, Finance, or Accounting. • Ability to handle ambiguity, willingness to learn, and learn from mistakes. • High attention to detail and ability to deliver results. • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues. • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project, is a plus. |

Data Analytics Intern |
Job Type: Internship Location: Washington, DC |
Responsibilities • Conduct research on analytics and modeling techniques and their potential applications in developing markets • Aggregate high-quality data for predictive models or other analyses • Clean and preprocess data • Prepare exploratory data analyses and develop storylines • Build predictive models to understand complex issues faced by the ICT sector in emerging markets Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of experience with applied statistical or machine learning methodologies at the graduate level • Good academic standing in fields related to statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, economics, geoinformatics or related field • Statistical/Machine Learning software experience (R, Python, SPSS, etc.) • Strong ability to convey advanced statistical concepts and ideas to a broader audience • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and ExcelDiligent, thorough, and effective researcher • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills • Close attention to detail with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and statistical analysis • Ability to adapt quickly to new challengesInterest in international development, particularly technology and connectivity in emerging and developing markets |
