Financial Analyst Internship |
Job Type: Internship Location: Chicago / New York / Newark |
Responsibilities • Prepare accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting. • Support cost deployment data collection and analysis.Assist with financial reports and journal entries. • Creating annual/monthly/quarterly schedules. • Support the tracking of our physical inventory. • As applicable to assigned business area, perform in-depth analysis of on-going operations. Identify important trends, key risk, and opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Qualifications • Attention to Detail: Monitoring adherence to standards and actively checking for accuracy of data received or generated before passing it on. • Communication: listening effectively, transmitting information accurately and understandably and actively seeking feedback non-defensively. • Flexibility: performing a wide range of tasks, responding to changes in direction and priorities, and accepting new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments. • Dependability/Reliability: Following through on commitments, producing timely work to promote a higher standard; pitching in to get the job done. • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills. • Minimum Education and Experience: – Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Business (with preference for Finance or Accounting), at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship – Student should have minimum GPA of 2.8 and Above |

Responsibilities • Impact challenging projects in our Firefox web browser (accessibility, voice design, developer tools, mobile, and mixed reality), Rust, Pocket, and more • Be mentored by a fellow teammate and someone who shares the same values • Do real work on real projects and make contributions that will impact hundreds of millions of users • Participate in social events with your fellow interns (amusement parks, ice cream and boba socials, board game nights, escape rooms, and painting parties) • Meet with Mozilla leaders including our CEO, Executive Chairwoman, CPO, Chief R&D Officer, CMO, and Executive Foundation Director • Present your work to Mozilla leaders and fellow team members Qualifications • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related discipline • Graduation date starting December 2020 and onward • Experience with profit analysis and financial modeling • Understanding of business terminology / relevant finance & accounting coursework • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Office Suite • Ability to multitask, perform in a fast-paced environment & respond quickly to situational needs as they arise • Strong communication and social skills • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • Excellent organization, time management, and interpersonal skills • Familiarity with how to access and employ a variety of resources • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and produce results independently and collaboratively in a team |

Responsibilities • You will become a valued and integral member within your finance area. You will work on a variety of projects that directly impact the business, such as building models, forecasting, market research, or creating internal tools or databases. Your manager will work with you to make sure your projects are meaningful and relevant based on your interests and development needs. Additionally, you will receive finance-specific training and have access to all company-wide training resources to help you succeed in your role. Qualifications • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business (on track to graduate by June 2021) • One or more years of classroom and/or finance internship work experience in financial risk analysis with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills preferred • Strong competency in MS Office, especially in Excel including pivot tables; certifications or relevant coursework preferred • Power BI /Tableau or other data visualization experience preferred • SQL/R/Python or other programming/data science experience preferred • Proven ability, experience, and overall understanding of fundamental finance and accounting acumen including: data modeling, data analytics, FP&A, forecasting, interpreting financial statements, and reporting • Capable of working with high degree of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple business partners and teams • Strong attention to detail and accuracy |
